Divine Heresy Game Information
Here you can find information about the role of Mathias in the game.
Probably, with Mathias, there's nothing much to say about. He never had an "important" role in the game, such as a secret character or something; but at the end, we found he was plotting everything while we were playing as Leon Belmont. Where Mathias was all that time? Orchestrating everything that happened in the game, using whatever he needed to achieve his goal. Yeah, Mathias was the brain behind everthing. Without him, probably we could have another "let's kick Dracula's ass again" game. As you can see, Mathias is NOT a playable character... No, no, NO!
I've heard several times rumors about it. The idea was finishing the game as Leon, Joachim, Pumpkin, Crazy mode, and then you should dress up like IGA (with hat, whip and all that jazz), turn on your console, load your game and you would be able to play as Mathias, but that is fake as a 3 mexican pesos coin... Errr... I'm sure at the beggining, too much people tought about playing as Mathias when finishing the game, because, IGA usually bring us the hero's friend or another good guy as alternate heroes. Like; if we finish "Harmony of Dissonance" with Juste Belmont, we can play as his friend Maxim, but as you can see, in "Lament of Innocence" is different. Now... How do you plan to play as Mathias if he's wearing those kind of clothes? o_O Well, if Zuge Liang can fight with a fan in Dynasty Warriors... And Mathias has a sword! Why he didn't? XD Anyway, that's why he was the tactician. He was only in backstage, telling to the army men what to do. Mathias has more resources to get whatever he wanted, only using his brain, without wasting strength and time, he just had to make a good plan, and voilà! Like we were able to see in the game. Let's put this simple with one of my stupid examples: if he would've wanted something from me, he would know he just needs to give to me a pretty smile, and immediately I'll give to him whatever he wants. See? *rofl* Now... The sword in the concept art? Probably he used that only when he was in some kind of trouble. Let's think about it, if someone enters to the cottage where he was leading the troops, and that person tries to attack him surpressively. Mathias just had to use his sword to kill the intruder. Remember Walter called him a "knight" also. Mathias knows for sure how to use that sword, the sword is not an accesory to look more badass. To put an end to this stupid babbling, well... Mathias IS Dracula! And it is confirmed now! We can't play as Dracula... Hmmm, ok, we have Soma now, but there is a difference between Soma and Mathias. Soma carries Dracula's soul on his body, he starts a journey to find the truth and seal his evil side, and Mathias wanted to switch to the dark side, and at the end he made it! |
